Our Culture

At Human Effort we think that the atmosphere of where you work, the people you work with and the reason you are in business all contribute to making a company a great place to work.  We think that Human Effort is a great company and a great place to work (no bias here).  Being great starts with good ideas.  Our ideas about what makes a company great can be described as:

  • Having fun -- no need to say more.
  • Being good at what we do, always doing our best - and supporting people to get better.
  • Being involved.
  • One for all, all for one -- we are an interdependent team.
  • Working together.
  • Taking responsibility.
  • Learning. Learning from our customers, from each other, from participants, from experience, from books and from every available opportunity and method.
  • Thinking. We are not saying that other people do not, but often it is the level of "critical thinking" that is missing.
  • Equality.
  • Growth. Going from vision to reality. As individuals and as a company.
  • Doing what we say.

The next step is to take these ideas and make them specific to our business. Whether it is supporting you in your workplace, at our neighborhood venues, with your businesses electronic systems or through Human Effort U we have taken our basic ideas and asked ourselves, what can be done differently and better in our specific areas of business and expertise. We came up with some answers.  Here is a taste of why we think Human Effort is different and better :

  • Customer care and service. This means focusing on customer needs. Talking to you. Finding out what you want. Delivering on those needs. Adapting to your changing business environments. Growing with them.
  • Truly needs-based services and programs. We have noticed that often the program itself is given priority. The participant or end user of a service is molded to fit the program. We thought that the priority should be reversed. How about molding the program to fit the participant. Every individual and situation is unique. At Human Effort you will not find one-size-fits-all or “canned” programs – we will match our services and programs to precise needs.
  • Effective use of technology, information and learning. Our own internal business systems embrace all of our philosophies so you can learn from us and have us learn from you.  We walk our talk.
  • What about facility space and surroundings? What would no waiting times be like if you were visiting us for in person service? At Human Effort we think that the atmosphere created by the facility space should be warmer, more fun and just look better. We have just such as space.
  • Having great ideas is the start. Next, it is the people that you work with that make your company great. At Human Effort we believe it is the people that are our most important element.  Let us introduce you to some of our people...
  • Okay, there are great ideas and great people, what else is needed? Likely not much more, but add great equipment, comfortable surroundings, and the best technology, and you possibly have it all.  This is Human Effort. The design and function of our environment is integral to our idea.
  • Forget low ceilings, “mouse-trap” office planning and fluorescent lighting.  We have high ceilings, wood floors, natural light and open space. We get excited just talking about it.

We have ideas, people, and an intriguing physical environment.  But why? Human Effort is a company that wants to be different and better. Not the biggest, just the best. We want to change the way health care is delivered. We want to help people lead happier, healthier, and more fulfilled lives. We want to make people think.  It all comes down to ideas. If we cannot make an impact with our ideas or create a positive change, why do it? We do both.

So, there you have it. That gives you a glimpse at our ideas, our people, and our purpose. We think that this is the combination of a great company and a great place to work.
